Talonbooks’ conference event will be devoted to two newly published titles. We will start with a bilingual round-table session with some of the co-authors (Jean Marc Dalpé, Alexis Martin, and Kenneth Williams) and one of the editors (Charles Simard) of Gabriel Dumont’s Wild West Show / Le Wild West Show de Gabriel Dumont. This bilingual edition is a co-publication by Talonbooks (Vancouver, BC) and Éditions Prise de parole (Sudbury, ON). The round table will discuss the origins of the project, the process of creating the script and the ongoing translation that had to occur throughout, and the publication of the bilingual volume.

The second part of the Talon session will be a screening of part of the National Arts Centre Indigenous Theatre’s reading of keynote speaker Kevin Loring’s new play Little Red Warrior and His Lawyer: A Trickster Land Claim Fable.
